Movie Trailers to Help Students Take Ownership

This week, Haley Skavaril has been having students create movie trailers from the book they are reading. Using Adobe Spark, students are showing their learning by planning and creating movie trailers about the book while collaborating with classmates.

By allowing students to use a familiar medium, this project allowed students to take ownership of their learning.
SAMR is a framework that helps explain how the use of technology can change the learning experience.

Using tools like Adobe Spark makes it possible to create tasks that weren’t traditionally possible. Tapping into their creativity engaged students in the project and the technology pushed this activity into the modification and redefinition of SAMR, as it unlocks new learning tasks.
