In order to purchase and add paid apps to a student iPad, teachers need to use the Volume Purchase Program (VPP.)
Why do I need to do this?
Currently, we are using an iPad system that assigns one Apple ID to multiple iPads (a student set.) The Apple App store is not set up for enterprise purchasing like we need to do for ISD. Consequently Apple set up the volume purchase program to ensure that multiple copies of an app can be purchased using a single Apple ID.
This program will allow you to purchase multiple copies of an app to be used with one Apple ID. This way app developers get paid for all the copies you are using.
How does the process work?
To purchase apps using the VPP, you need to identify the app you would like to purchase, and figure out how many you’ll need.
Once completed, click on Submit Order, and your request will be sent onto the Ed Tech Department.
When the order has been completed, you will receive an email with a redemption code, which you will use to get the app from the App Store.
