Undelete Your Canvas Artifacts

Did you accidentally delete something from your course that you still need? There is likely a way to recover it.

  • Open your course and make sure you are on “Home”
  • Click on the URL and then at the end add “/undelete”

This will then provide you with a list of course-deleted artifacts and offer you the chance to “restore” them to your course. Note that some of the data may be lost.

This works with Canvas-specific items and is in alphabetical order according to the item:

  • Discussions
  • Assignments
  • Assignment Groups
  • Groups
  • Modules
  • Quizzes
  • Rubrics
  • (Wiki)Pages
  • Attachment

Additional Tips

Undo with CTRL-Z is another great way to quickly get your content back when editing within Canvas. This will revert your most recent change back.

If you are using Pages, you can also View Page History and revert back to older versions! Find this on any Page using the three dots in the upper right corner.
