It’s back! Canvas recently updated the functionality of the Inbox to easily include observers. You may notice a more streamlined messaging format where you can select your course and select students.
After adding the student, you can then click the “Include Observers” button and the observers for the student will automatically be added.
It is difficult to find observers for students directly in Canvas, so this step will ease the process and be a time saver in general.
